So after much encouragement by @Lovecraft0110 I have finally made (and recieved) an order from AMMO by MIG so that I can dip my toes into the world of weathering, and I thought I would share my experience with you.
(This post is purely focused on the order and delivery experience, rather than a product review)

I placed an order for a number of items on 7/10/20 at approximately 3:15pm. By ~4:30 the order as being prepared, and by 9am the following day the order had been dispatched. Standard shipping was around £10 to the UK with a delivery time of (I think) 5-7 days. I opted to pay about £3 more to bring that time down to 2 days.
The courier was kind enough to inform me on the 8th that my order would be with me the following day, and unsurprisingly on on the 9th it arrived bright and early. So far, so good!

Here is what was presented to me when I answered the door:

If you can't read the tape, it's basically a "check contents if seal is broken" type message - a nice touch, I think.

Inside, the contents were nicely arranged and protected (I had emptied the box prior to taking the photo - the items were replaced in the positions found and the packaging in vaguely the same place)

Everything neatly Tetris-ed in, and no damage of any kind. Still getting top marks from me!

Underneath the items I had ordered were the usual reading materials. We have a 'new in September' pamphlet, a conversion chart for the MIG line of paints (which covers Tamiya and Vallejo, but not Citadel, P3 etc), a couple of stickers and a facemask-wallet-maker-thing. Not entirely sure what the last one is about if I'm honest, but it's in there!

You may have also noticed in the photos above that there was a bottle with a GIFT sticker!

A bottle of Gold paint from the MIG range. Having heard that others often get little surprises it wasn't entirely unexpected, but it was still rather nice to recieve.
The back of the paint conversion guide also makes mention of the yellow top - it would seem that AMMO have started adding mixing balls to all of their paints. Having bought some in this very order for some of my other paints this is definitely something that I can support!

In short, I'm really very impressed. Preparation and shipping took exactly as long as expected, the packaging was perfectly sufficient and thus everything was undamaged, my items (plus a free gift) were neatly arranged, and everything was supported by promotional materials that were relevant and useful.

All in all, I couldn't really have asked for more. This is my first AMMO order so I ordered direct rather than go through a third party supplier. Given the quality of service I think that my future orders (of which I've no doubt there will be many) will likely be direct too!

I definitely think AMMO is by far the best supplier I've ordered from. In terms of packing, speed and general care. And then in terms of product seem to be fantastic too. Can't say enough about them really. Just wish they did more stuff.
Which brushes have you gone for? My only complaint was that one of the cheap synthetic brushes i got from them fell apart within a day or two!!
Very excited for you to take your first steps into enamels!!!

Same for me, really impressed with them! And it seems like Miguel is constantly working on something new - what do you reckon they're missing?

I got the panel lines and streaking brush sets. Just needed some synthetics that weren't my 'good' ones or already ruined!

I noticed they dont have any weathering pencils like ak do nor airbrush putty....
Selfishly id love to see oil/enamels for flesh tones and stuff but not sure if its there target market.

Nice. I need some proper panel liners so you'll have to let me know what you think

I think it would be fair to say they're much more focused on military modelling, but there's always the chance that with hobby crossover they may do so in future. I'll get Enrique to message him 😜

To be honest I think they're just brushes 😂 I can see now why an angled tip is more useful for blending, but I've not really put them to their intended use so I can't really comment in that regard.

Haha through the Spanish paint experts hotline?

Ive found someone selling a load of brushes on ebay actually including some liners.. i think itll help for the capillary effect as im just not using the right brushes.

Discussions on discord sound like oil paints may be the way for flesh blending!

I'm sure they must have a private discord channel or something 😂

Certainly can't hurt to give it a go! If I ever actually get any hobby time then I'll be able to have another go myself!

I must have missed that - don't suppose they put any links up?

Will need to have a look at some point. For now though, getting my head around acrylic/enamel combos will do, not looking to try and learn something else yet!

Do you think it would be worth it to order a number of painting supplies from them since I am still nee at painting minis?
