If you look around online you'll find lots of guides and videos telling you which products are the best, which are the worst and which you simply cannot live without - this guide however exists to get you exactly what you want and need for as little of your hard-earned money as possible, and without sacrificing quality. After all, remortgaging your house or taking out a loan is a little drastic for toy soldiers!

Pound shops (and their equivalent) can be an absolute gold mine for cheap hobby supplies, particularly things that don't necessarily need to be high-quality, like dry palettes.
